POSITION TITLE:
Electronic Communications Coordinator

Under the supervision of the Director of Community Relations, the Electronic Communications Coordinator will develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive web based communication program for Evergreen Public Schools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Provide strategic vision and leadership on web-based communications and how to increase traffic, provide optimal user-friendly and effective web experience, and build Evergreen's brand through on-line presence.
    2. Design, develop, and maintain external and internal websites.
    3. Coordinate with the district's Information Technology department the migration of the website to Community Relations to ensure a smooth transition.
    4. Coordinate the Evergreen Public School brand and message with Community Relations and Video Services staff to reach the district's various audiences.
    5. Work with the Director of Community Relations to identify and write stories that can be told on-line and in district print publications.
    6. Take and post photos on the district's external and internal websites.
    7. Work with district management and Video Services staff to stream videos on-line.
    8. Coordinate with Video Services and Information Technology staff to run district webcasts.
    9. Serve as the district's point of contact for web-related questions.
    10. Travel from location to location in order to perform tasks.
    11. Design electronic media such as newsletters, invitations, and announcements.
    12. Manage the library of on-line images and content.
    13. Work with departments throughout the district to ensure that all web content is correct, current, and accessible.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(Testing may be required)

    1. Typing/keyboarding, minimum of 50 wpm.
    2. A bachelor's degree in communications, new media, or related design field preferred.
    3. Five years experience designing, developing, and managing complex web sites preferred.
    4. Proficient in writing content for websites and publications.
    5. Proficient in photography for use on websites and in publications.
    6. Web marketing experience including optimizing content and keywords for search engines.
    7. Experience in testing for and assuring optimal web user experience.
    8. Proficient in translating print content to web content.
    9. Proficient in graphic design.
    10. Advanced knowledge of Sharepoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Javascript, HTML, DHTML, CSS.
    11. Understanding and promotion of best-practice web-usability guidelines.
    12. Highly effective written/verbal communication and task management skills.
    13. Ability to manage numerous and complex projects in various stages of completion.
    14. Ability to set realistic deadlines and meet them.
    15. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the general public.
    16. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    17. Must be flexible, cooperative, and be able to maintain confidentiality.
    18. Demonstrated ability to operate the equipment listed in the tools and equipment area above.
    19. Demonstrated ability to perform tasks accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.
    20. Demonstrated organizational skills and a commitment to follow through.
    21. Must be able to travel from location to location to perform tasks.
    22. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Effective Date: Immediately
Salary: $19.15 - $26.06

Benefits: Per Negotiated Agreement
Work Year: September through August

Note: Employment is on a conditional basis pending completion of a state and national background check and will be at the successful applicant's own expense.
